What membership options are there?
For each age group, we have two membership options: social and competitive.
We encourage people to select ‘competitive’ if they plan to do inter-club events for harriers or athletics.
The registration form also has several $0 ‘volunteer’ categories (including coaches, officials, life members, and other volunteers) to keep a record of these valued members of our community. Like paid social and competitive members, $0 ‘volunteer’ members need to re-register each year.
What are the membership fees (2025-26)?

What are the main differences between social and competitive memberships?
| Social: | Competitive: |
| • Club and destination runs • Coaching and training groups • Club events and workshops • HCU-hosted races: o Shunters and Grunters Relay o Lovelock Relays o TK Cowan Race o Colin Holmes/ Alice Baker Memorial 5km • Community access • Partner discounts | Everything offered through the social membership as well as: • Ability to enter all interclub events and races for cross country and athletics. • Selection eligibility for team-based competitions. • Additional athlete support including grants |
As a rule of thumb, if you want to do inter-club events for either harriers or athletics, the ‘competitive’ option is probably best for you. Otherwise, the ‘social’ membership will serve you well.
