The Hill Free on 9th October 2016 has been postponed and options will be looked at for a revamped Hill Free in 2017
What is the Hill Free?
The New Balance Hill Free Half Marathon event is a running and walking race catering for all ages and abilities consisting of a Half Marathon run, 10km run/walk, 5km run and a 2km run for children under 12. As the name suggests, these races are hill free.
Run on the Taieri Plains around the rural setting of Outram (Dunedin, New Zealand), this event is becoming more and more popular to the novice athlete for the experience factor. It is also popular with the more elite level athletes who are looking for a personal best and is often used as the Otago Half Marathon Champion event.
Both the Half Marathon and 10km courses are IAAF/AIMS certified, meaning they are accurately measured and any records broken can be acknowledge as valid.
